The name "Ferndon" is a family pseudonym: an ancestor by the name of "Ferndon" randomly appeared on the Welsh docks to buy a ship and sail to America with his men, a bit after "the '45". We've found no record of him before this single purchase registered in Wales. We saw no record of any women or children in the group, and the only information internet scouring found on the man of Ferndon was a fascinatingly spooky myth of a human-like being who haunted a marsh and rode around on a horse... Yes, "Ferndon" changed his name after he landed in New Hampshire, but he set up a new opportunity where he and his people used their skills to integrate into a society and build a new future.
